JACK SCAROLA graduated with honors from Georgetown University in 1969 and from Georgetown Law Center in 1973. Before joining the Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley law firm in 1978, he was Chief Felony Prosecutor in the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s office, where he was lead counsel in the trials of more than fifty major criminal cases, including the nation’s first gavel-to-gavel televised murder trial.
Mr. Scarola is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer. While he devotes a substantial portion of his practice to personal injury, wrongful death, and medical negligence cases, he has developed a special interest in representing individuals and small businesses damaged by abuses of corporate power.
Mr. Scarola is the former President of the Palm Beach County Trial Lawyers Association and has played an active leadership role in both county and statewide professional associations. He is a recipient of the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award and the Legal Aid Society’s Community Service Award honoring his involvement in giving free legal help to individuals and community groups.
Mr. Scarola is a Director of the prestigious International Academy of Trial Lawyers whose invitation only membership is limited to 500 Attorneys. He has been repeatedly listed in Best Lawyers in America in 5 separate practice areas, is a 2019 Best Lawyers’ Lawyer of the Year, and is the 2018 recipient of The Florida Justice Association Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mr. Scarola along with his firm at Searcy Law is honored to be a part of a team of lawyers helping to be the voices of the dozens of identified Epstein victims in their pending effort to set aside the secret, illegal deal that enabled Jeffrey Epstein to evade appropriate punishment for his destruction of dozens of lives.
Jack Scarola summed up his thoughts on the case in this statement: “This law firm has always been proud to stand with innocent victims, but our satisfaction in keeping that commitment has never been greater than it is in the Epstein case. No one — no matter how much money they have — can be allowed to abuse children and then attempt to bully those like fellow attorney Brad Edwards who bravely, selflessly, and skillfully come to their defense. There is a high price to pay for that kind of conduct, and Jeffrey Epstein has now begun to pay that price.”
